Terms of Service

These terms are the agreement between you and Cheato when you use our extension or website. By creating an account or using the service, you accept them. If you do not agree, please do not use Cheato.
What Cheato is
Cheato is an AI study assistant. It reads a question from your screen or your uploaded notes and returns an answer with the reasoning. It is a study aid meant to help you learn and understand your material faster.
Use it honestly
Cheato is built to help you study and learn. You are responsible for using it in line with the rules of your school, course, exam, or institution. Do not use Cheato in any setting where using outside help is not allowed, such as a monitored exam or a test where it is prohibited. You, not Cheato, are responsible for how you use the answers you receive.
Your account
- You must give an accurate email and keep your password safe.
- You are responsible for activity under your account.
- One account is for one person. An account may be limited to a single device at a time.
- You must be at least 16 years old to use Cheato.
Plans, limits, and payment
- The Free plan includes a set number of answers each day. Paid plans include a set number of answers each month, as described on the pricing page.
- Paid plans are billed in Indian Rupees through our payment processor, Razorpay.
- Prices and limits may change. If they do, the change applies to your next billing cycle, not the current one.
- Refunds are handled under our Refund and Cancellation Policy.
Answers are not guaranteed
Cheato uses AI models, and AI can be wrong. Answers may contain mistakes. Always check important answers against your own course material before you rely on them. Cheato is a study aid, not a source of guaranteed truth or professional advice.
Your content
The questions you send and the notes you upload stay yours. You give us permission to process them only to provide the service to you. We do not use them to train our own models. See our Privacy Policy for detail.
What you may not do
- Break the law or infringe someone else's rights with the service.
- Resell, share, or automate access to Cheato outside normal personal use.
- Attempt to break, overload, reverse engineer, or bypass the security or limits of the service.
- Upload content you do not have the right to upload.
Suspension
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or abuses the service. Where fair to do so, we will tell you why.
Liability
Cheato is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for any academic, exam, or grade outcome that results from using the service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will update the date above and, for meaningful changes, let you know. Continuing to use Cheato after a change means you accept the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and any dispute will be handled by the courts there.
